At 17, winter-born Winlen is the oldest of the Season Sisters—four girls chosen as vessels to keep the autumn, spring, summer, and winter realms in perfect harmony. When her youngest sister is murdered, spring itself dies, throwing the realms and Winlen’s orderly life into chaos. 

Abandoning their oasis and traveling through fae-infested forests, the sisters compete against girls in their homelands to prove they are still worthy of their magic, all while Winlen tries uncovering the killer who might be right in their midst. But even the coldest ice breaks under too much pressure.

The guilt of her sister’s death, family betrayals, a lost love, and the anxiety of the unknown brings Winlen to the brink. There, she finds she has a choice: give up her seasonal power and her family to live a quiet life stolen from her as a child, or embrace the winter squall in her blood to find justice for her fallen sister.
